About this tool

This is a single-purpose page: it takes an image that has a visible Gemini sparkle watermark baked into it and gives you back the same image with that watermark removed.

Why it exists

Watermarks are added to generated images so that people can tell an image came from a model. That is a reasonable default, but it is inconvenient when you own the image and want to use it somewhere a small sparkle in the corner does not belong. Most tools that claim to fix this want you to upload your file to their server. This one does not need a server at all.

What it does, precisely

Gemini composites the sparkle over the image as a semi-transparent white layer at a fixed position and size. Because the blend is a known formula, it can be reversed: for every pixel inside the watermark box this page solves original = (watermarked − alpha × 255) / (1 − alpha) using the watermark's alpha map. Pixels outside the box are copied through untouched.

What it does not do

Where the alpha maps come from

The alpha-map data is derived from the MIT-licensed GargantuaX/gemini-watermark-remover project. The licence text ships with the site as NOTICE.txt.

How it stays free

There is no backend, no database, and no per-request cost, because your browser does all the work. The site is a set of static files. That is the whole architecture.
